Our Vision

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering communities through education and resources. Join us in our mission to create a better future for all.

Our Mission

To invite parents and family members of Deaf children to get to know Deaf people as members of a language minority through informed dialogue on real issues and up-to-date research, ASL instruction, events, and resources.

Join the Real Deaf Stories Community

Approximately 93% of Deaf children are born to hearing parents that do not sign with them. Most parents have never met a Deaf adult. When their child is identified as Deaf the main source of information comes from, teachers, doctors, speech pathologists, the Internet, books, TV. These sources generally present a surface level understanding while the significance of the Deaf Story including Deaf Culture and ASL is omitted. Parents need opportunities to learn from Deaf people who bring lived experiences and hearing people closely aligned with Deaf Culture.

Our intent is to establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging and equipping families of Deaf children so they can feel confident, connected, and fully supported. We believe every Deaf child is uniquely designed with purpose, and when families are empowered with the right tools and community, children can thrive and become all they are meant to be.

To bridge the information gap many families experience, we are committed to providing well-rounded, evidence-based resources alongside authentic and diverse lived experiences. Through this work, we seek to build a strong, informed, and compassionate community that uplifts and empowers families at every stage of their journey.
