This course is designed for students with some prior ASL experience or those who have successfully completed ASL 1-A. While ASL 1-A covered the manual alphabet and basic introductions, this course will build on those foundations to further develop your signing and comprehension ability.  You’ll walk away with the skills and confidence to immerse yourself in a variety of real-world ASL-rich environments.

Ready to see language in a whole new way? This  8-week course is the beginning introduction to American Sign Language and the people who bring it to life. We’ll dive into the fascinating linguistics of ASL, compare it to other global languages, and explore the rich heart of Deaf Culture. You’ll walk away with the essentials- vocabulary, fingerspelling, and basic grammar- giving you everything you need to start your journey into the Deaf World!
